This particular body of work is about my ethnic identity and connection to home and host culture as a consequence my experience as 1.5 generation Korean American Immigrant.

As an immigrant, I had to navigate and learn two sets of cultures (attitudes, language, beliefs, customs, behaviors, etc). The two cultures are in a constant conflict to be the dominant characteristics of my ethnic identity and when I'm forced to choose between the two, the choices usually comes with repercussions in the forms of "your too American" or "your not American enough". At one point, I couldn't identify myself as neither Korean nor American and I felt disconnected. I'm addressing the necessity for clear understanding of ones identity, a longing for belonging and intimate and authentic connection.
